Why GOOD Thoughts?

When I started building The GOOD Method, I never imagined there would be books, practical resources, podcasts and videos.

I simply wanted to write a book about how I managed to avoid losing everything after the financial crisis of 2007–08, and the methods I used to eventually pay my mortgage off five years early in August last year.

But as I wrote, the project became something much bigger.

What began as a book about debt gradually evolved into a behavioural framework that could be used to better understand many aspects of life, including health, finances, relationships, work and, ultimately, the choices we make every day.

As this website took shape, I realised there was one thing missing: somewhere for the ideas that were too small for a book, but still worth sharing.

Some begin with something I've read. Others are inspired by a concert, a conversation, a walk with Dixi, a life event or simply something I've noticed in everyday life.

That's what GOOD Thoughts is.

A place for the everyday ideas that make us stop and think.

There isn't a publishing schedule or a particular formula. Some posts will be about behaviour, money or psychology. Others might be about health, books, technology, history, a concert I've just been to, or the everyday experiences that shape the way we see the world.

The only thing they all have in common is curiosity.

If a post makes you think differently about something, starts a conversation or simply encourages you to pause for a few minutes, then it's done its job.

Welcome to GOOD Thoughts.
